Mageo is an online experience that seamlessly blends a social platform with a geolocation-based game. Anyone can play whenever and wherever they like, on any browser on your desktop or tablet, or take it on the road with you using our mobile app (Android and iOS). But Mageo is much more than just a social network or a game. Think of it as an entry point to the fast-evolving metaverse, a shared virtual space mirroring the real world.
Definitions of what the metaverse actually is vary widely. For our purposes, let’s call it a new online frontier of virtual experiences, environments and digital assets that exist well beyond the analog yet mirror the real world in most aspects.
Our immersive environment already has more than 13,000 members from all over the world, with many more signing up each day, making it easier than ever to connect with people who share your interests and form life-long friendships. It’s easy to set up groups (public or private), invite your friends, and share your favorite memes, news stories, photos, life stories, and hot tips on the game.
Influencers can leave their mark on the virtual world by dressing their avatar with an incredible trove of fashion items, tools and accessories, putting together distinct styles, or even by emulating or taking inspiration from one of our celebrity NPCs. They can also colonize the virtual space around them, where they live, work, learn, or any real destination they travel to, building virtual infrastructure there and marking their favorite places with any type of media.
In fact, every object in Mageo is customizable and can be personalized by attaching text, links, photos and videos. We don’t censor speech; nor do we employ algorithms or ads in your news feed. You’re free to control your network as you see fit. Build galleries and fill them with original pieces or your favorite works of art and describe why they’re important to you. Upload your self-published novel or latest short film, or colonize and tag favorite locations (cafes, monuments, buildings) in your real-world neighborhood. The options to express yourself are limitless.
Use our Teleport to travel to and explore any spot on earth. While you’re there, sample the local cuisine and culture, and meet and see what the locals are up to. You can also board an Airship to discover your immediate surroundings and colonize virgin islands in your area. Along the way, you’ll battle and capture monsters, drink magic potions, learn one of our nine professions (art, fighting, crafting, etc) and take part in a sophisticated economy powered by more than 100 special energies.
And while the reality of the metaverse is now at the earliest stages, we’ll be working hard to fulfil its promise. Nobody knows what the future holds or the exact shape it will take, but we are hard at work building and expanding our metaverse, with plans to enable cryptocurrencies and NFTs for game items and virtual real estate.
